Is it worth it getting a loan for the summer?

Hello everyone, I'm in a bit of a problem here. I was planning on doing 2 classes at my univ this summer (bio 1 and an elective for a minor) but I would need to take out a loan that accrues interest, pay for an apartment and food and I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Pros: I can do research this summer (already have it set up), classes at my own univ harder and better quality (seen as better in application...).

Cons: I'd have to take out loans (+ I already have some), away from home, classes at CC are not as well viewed.

Is it worth the money to take these classes here or should I cancel all my plans (already had an apt set up, but it can be cancelled i guess) and take these two classes at a CC???

Any advise is helpful, thanks so much

Depending on the class I've seen on sdn that summer classes are generally looked down upon since they are often easier then the same course during the year. Certainly that holds true at my school since people take the summer classes to get out of the harder professor during the year. Personally I don't think it is worth it, take it at your CC, and just take upper level science courses at your university when you transfer there.

I think this depends on the motivation. If you're doing this to boost GPA or "go the extra mile" so to speak, then I don't think it's worth it. If you're doing this because you won't have time to take these courses at your uni, then I think it's definitely worth it.

I wouldn't worry too much about the loans, but this is coming from somebody with an invisible house.

You could get a job, volunteer, and maybe do some shadowing over the summer instead of taking classes?
