Is it worth sending an update letter to a school I have an interview with?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have an interview coming up with my dream school, which I haven't sent any updates to since secondaries. Additionally, my primary and secondaries didn't touch much on what I'd been doing the months leading up to the application cycle. This caused a slight "issue" during some other interviews where I had to spend ~5 minutes talking about what I've been doing over the past year and my plans for the rest of the year. Should I send the school I'm interviewing at an update letter, or just wait til the half-hour interview to hash it out when it inevitably comes up?
I think it’s good to have these new things to talk about at your interview

Writing an update letter is essential to make sure the admissions committee has all the most recent information that you want them to consider as they review your application.

Although it’s important to mention these updates in your interview, this does not guarantee the interviewer will record the update or value it in the capacity that you might want them to. This is especially true since many interviewers are not on the admissions committee, and all that continues past the interview is their written report and/or evaluation. Writing an update letter allows you to tell the ADCOMS precisely what you want to communicate and this is an invaluable component of a written update letter.

Publishing the update prior to your interview also increases the chances that your interviewer will read the update and ask you to expand upon it in the interview itself, in many cases this can be a great way to break the Ice and discuss a more recent activity that you have been pursuing and enjoy.

Call the admissions office and ask them directly if they accept update letters and if you can upload one to your application portal. Make sure to tell them you were invited to interview, this lets them know that you are asking a logistical question and not a hypothetical. If you choose to email the admin office, include Interview Scheduling Inquiry in the subject line of your email.

If the admissions office says they do not accept letters, ask them how to best communicate the update (say, in the interview directly perhaps?). if they do accept update letters or ask you to defer to your own discretion, then you're free to go ahead and upload directly!
