I have been working as an EMT for a private ambulance company for 6 months now, which was included in my applications. I was recently hired to work as an EMT in the emergency department of a local hospital. Although my title is the same, my responsibilities have significantly increased and I have learned more in the first few weeks than in 6 months at the ambulance company. Is it worth updating schools that like applicant updates such as Jefferson, GTown, etc of my new employment? @Goro
Thanks

Didn’t know hospitals hire EMTs, in my area it is hard to get a ft Hospital position even as a paramedic. In my opinion, if you have an opportunity to join ED you should do it as soon as you get your emt card, since you will get nothing from private companies (except for cash).

They might mean ED tech

I applied to emergency room technician jobs as soon as I was licensed, however it was impossible to get hired without ANY experience. The private ambulance company at least gave me the experience to land the emergency room job. According to the nurse manager who interviewed me for the position, I will be trained by them as if I were a paramedic, but I will not be able to hang an IV bag/give drugs. I will be doing stright sticks, EKGs the whole nine.
