I am a california resident and I'm curious about how much a year of college math matter for med school. I took APs for calc and statistics, so on my transcript it says that I've take a year of math. I know certain schools such as UCLA require a year of math that is not AP credit, but would that school be one of the only ones that I limit myself from applying to? Or is it worth having to take another year of math and have less time in my schedule for volunteering and other activities.

Follow up question to this, as I'm in a similar predicament- would a graduate level year in biostats be able to replace a year of "college math"?

I'm in a similar position. I'm using ap credit to get out of taking physics, and most medical schools I'm applying to are okay with this , but for the ones that aren't, I'm taking 1 semester of physics senior year, and if I matriculate, will take another semester of it over the summer ( it is offered)
