I’ve had different answers to this and have read other threads so want to make one myself. I’ve been told by an ADCOM at my school that this date wouldn’t be too late due to primaries being processed the first 6-8 weeks. But then I saw a renowned ADCOM on this site saying it would be too late. I will submit to a throw away school and start on the primary right after my MCAT. At what point do you need to be verified to where you’re not at a disadvantage?

I don’t know if I’m well qualified to answer but I will pitch in by sharing my experience!

I submitted my primary the first week allowed to a few schools! Then I took the MCAT late June and was fully verified In July and my MCAT score in late July as well!

In my perspective, I haven’t had any issues this cycle at all! I’m happy with my current cycle with my acceptance and II! Your MCAT date is so much earlier than mine so I wouldn’t worry! If that day makes you feel the most ready then I say go for it

You’ll get your scores by mid June??? Idk what adcom you’re referring to but I think you’re mistaken. I took my MCAT the year prior and didn’t submit my AMCAS Until mid June anyway because I wanted to work on my PS more. I wasn’t verified until sometime early July but I started receiving secondaries late June. It’s by no means late. Also if you have a committee letter this probably won’t be ready until later in the summer so don’t worry

No. Took mine the exact same date. Submit your app to a throwaway school on June 1st

Nope! Took mine on May 19th.

You'll get the MCAT score back approximately a month after taking it (June 19-ish). If your transcripts are already verified, the application will be ready to transmit to schools within a business day. However, no schools receive completed applications from AMCAS until the last days of June.

No, I actually can you tell you every detail, as I had the same question last cycle. May 30th is the last day you can take the mcat and still be "first in line" in terms of applications (assuming everything else is submitted). You will get your mcat back June 30th; AMCAS opens June 1st and transmits (e.g. allows schools to download apps) applications it July 1st. Hence, the latest possible date to still be first in line is actually May 30th.

As far as volunteering and other ECs are concerned, if you wanted to work on those in the summer before applying, would you still be considered as being "first in line" if you submitted everything on June 30th?

Yes I believe so. You would just put in your application that you plan to continue your work until some final date and how many hours projected.

bumping this wondering if its the same for later may test dates like may 24?

Yes, I would also have to say within 1-2 months would still be considered "early" in the application cycle. It's important to balance time with quality of application
