Is OBGYN even possible?

I'm a 3rd year student that's pretty set on OBGYN. Unfortunately, Comlex I didn't go so well for me ( ~ 445, which is 100 pts less than my lowest COMSAE so, that's wonderful 😢) and I didn't take USMLE. Most of the other OBGYN threads have people worrying about their chances with >500 so I'm not sure if the specialty is even plausible for me at this point.

I really enjoy it and plan on taking the Comlex II and USMLE Step II (to cover my bases).

Worth going for it? I'd like to go ACGME to give myself more options but at this point, I really don't know if that's going to happen with no USMLE and an abysmal Comlex; if it's possible, I 100% plan on taking Step II. Anyone have any advice or know of anyone in a similar situation? Thanks!

I don't have a lot of personal experience with evaluating DO applicants from the ACGME side, and have none with applicants who have a Step 2 but no Step 1. From what I've heard 480s tends to be a general "cut-off" and you're quite a bit below that. There may be ACGME programs out there that are more forgiving. However, if your main concern is the potential for an ACGME fellowship, you have to realize that those programs likely won't have much of a track record for sending graduates into subspecialties anyway.

Sorry I can't be more helpful! I will ask around and see if my DO colleagues have any more useful advice.

I don't see myself doing a fellowship, but I don't want to rule out the possibility. Obviously if there's no way in hell I can, then well...there's no choice.

Sure, that'd be great. I'm getting a little worried because there's very little info out there on sdn in terms of OBGYN and the scores you need, unfortunately. Thank you!
