OHSU's stats from MSAR "Age of Matriculants":
18 & Under: 0
19-23: 40
24-29: 83
30-39: 21
40 & Over: 2

21?! Most schools I ever look at have 2-5 in my category (peep the username, folks).

Any other schools known to top this?

Further, if anyone familiar with OHSU could comment on this, I'd love to hear it. While I know OHSU is OOS friendly, I know they also like folks who have some connection / hertiage to Oregon. My boyfriend of a year is from Oregon and wants to move back to Portland. If I got in, we'd move together. Think this counts? By the time I apply, we could be considered domestic partners.

Would love to hear other non-trad friendly schools in 2017 y'all know of.

OHSU is only OOS friendly to the neighboring states without med schools I believe.

Dartmouth is huge on nontrads from what I've seen and heard.

OHSU only considers applicants in their missions groups which includes in state or heritage. It also includes high stats oos applicants as per OHSU's website:
  • Non-resident applicants with superior achievements in academics and other related experiences. For the 2017 cycle, superior academics is defined as a cumulative Total GPA, as reported by AMCAS, of 3.70 or higher, and a cumulative score of 32 or higher (for the old MCAT) or 513 or higher (for the new MCAT) on the most recent eligible MCAT. Superior achievements is defined as significant experiences in healthcare, leadership, extracurricular activities, and/or community service activities.
So if you have no ties to the state, you get accepted there from oos by being high stats.

I wonder if, "My fiancé was born in and grew up in Portland" would mean anything?

From everything I've heard, if you don't fall into one of OHSU's mission-based groups, outlined on their website, you will not be in the running for admission.

I'm about non-trad as it gets and they didn't even send me an email rejecting me.
