Is student doc representative of average US medical students?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
A lot of IMG students (who tend to be more brilliant, especially the Chinese and Indian, despite the language barrier, because of their years of clinical experience) post here it seems. That could drive up the knowledge base.

Let's just say, a lot of people in my school still think they are in college...

Edit: what I mean is not they are lazy or dumb. On the contrary, they work hard and want to do well, just like studying for a college examination. However, they lack that particular hunger, opting to perform in a variety of social experiences. Relying on the fact that there is a physician shortage in America and that "a 220 will not exclude me from any major specialties" is dangerous thinking and a precursor for training less than adequate physicians in America

It's not the foreign docs that are pulling most of the 250s and 260s here. It's just that the ones who don't do as well don't post here.

Still, there are a lot of them who are doing absolutely awesome, you know?

idk, haha, I really wish I had 6 months to study 😛
That would suck. That is way too much time. People who take 6 months to study don't do so because they want to, they need to. They would not do well otherwise.

Yes but I would take a 3 month vacation in the middle 🙂 And be relaxed. And rock it. 😀

Or I would study 2 hours a day every day for 6 months.

Either way, it sounds better than right now. I'm taking it 3 days before school starts and my first rotation wants me to be in at 5:30. So even when I'm done, there's nothing to look forward to. 🙁

Here I can only see great scores..

SDN'ers are just geniuses with 150+ IQs too. Just ask them.

I remember reading the pre-med forums back in the day (shudder) and was wondering how the hell everyone was 35++ (hell might as well post that you got a 40+ right?) in MCAT and I was the only one with a 27 yet still managed to get into a US allo school.

It's the internet, don't believe everything you read.
