I know there are a bazillion forums on this question, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I have a couple of questions.

1 - If I submit my application to AMCAS on June 1st, 2016 (the day it opens), in general, how long will it take for them to process my application, and then for me to have the green light to send applications to med schools?

2- I'm signed up to take the MCAT May 20, but won't be receiving my scores until June 21. I know I can submit my application even though I haven't received my results yet, but will I be at a disadvantage if schools recieve my application with no MCAT score quite yet? Like do I get put at the bottom of the pile, or will they send me secondaries without looking at the MCAT? I want the best possible chance to get in early and at the top of the lists. If it is a disadvantage, I would consider bumping up my MCAT date to April 23rd so I could get my results back on May 24 (before submitting applications). I would like to hear some opinions or of anyone else who was in a similar situation, what is the best rout to take? I will be studying like crazy up until the day I take the MCAT regardless of which day it will be. I would just like to know how much disadvantaged I'd be with my scores coming June 20th.

Thanks for your help.

If you feel confident of your performance then submit to one school. That way you will be verified before they release to the schools. You can then add schools when you get your score.

Schools will not release their secondaries until the very end of June or the first days of July (not sure of the exact date for 2016). As long as you get your MCAT score back before then, and your AMCAS verified (take 2-3 weeks if you submit the first week), you will be fine in terms of being able to get your secondaries submitted right away. Your MCAT day sounds like it will work.
