Is taking a beginner course of your mother language doable

Hi, I am choosing my next undergrad courses and I was thinking of taking a beginner course of my mother language. Is that allowed? There are no conditions or restrictions in the course description. I know that what I'm doing is pretty absurd and makes no sense, but taking this class would really help me save some time (since I already know that language) and I would invest that time in more important things like selling my soul and my life to the Almighty organic chemistry and biology). There's no class curve or anything like that so I won't affect the other students, I'll just be minding my own business. If i get asked if I know the language, I will just say that I rarely spoke it. Is that doable?

If i get asked if I know the language , due to my country's origins, I will just say that I rarely spoke it since I was born in a trilingual country. Is that fraud?

Also, I am worried that I am forgetting my language and I miss writing in it so much, so if there were more experienced courses I would've taken them but I'm just going to settle with this and profit from it personally and academically.
PS: I know that's not ethical, I am just asking if this is doable. And I am not studying in the same country I was born in.

literally no harm done. Go do it. I took french for 7years but didnt take ap, needed language credit, took an intermediate french in college, cruised thru it for an A

Lol it’s perfectly ethical.

That’s like saying it’s unethical for me to be a biology major in undergrad because it gives me an advantage in the relevant block in medical school.

If you list your proficiency as native (or advanced) on your AMCAS application and the only classes you have taken are beginners, it may come off as disingenuous...

You might check with the university department first. There were several native speakers who were asked to withdraw from my Korean 101 class during the first week of freshman year.
