It will have little impact at this stage. You're basically saying something that is completely non-committal and people know that you could be saying that to literally every school you apply to (I know, I know, some people actually mean it and would only ever say that to their top pick but it's the freeloaders that take advantage of that system that ruin it for everyone). I can't see it hurting if you have room left on a secondary or something but don't expect it to help much. After you've gone on your interviews, you can always send a letter of interest to your schools, perhaps rolled into an update letter as well, that carries a bit more weight since now you can speak about what exactly you like about that school versus others you've been to. It still has little impact though. Finally, if you're waitlisted, then you can send a letter of intent if you would absolutely, 100% attend that school if admitted off the waitlist. Such a statement has the biggest impact at that stage in your cycle.
