Does anyone know for sure if MCAT scores from the 2001 MCAT are too old? My pre-med advisor told me they were fine, but I'm starting to worry. Anyone?

Depends on the schools. Some schools put the requirements on their web page with the dates they will accept. If the school you want doesn't, I would suggest you call the ones or better yet email the schools you are applying to and ask them.

I applied for class 2008 with the MCAT I took in August 2001 with no troubles. I could have applied to some schools this year as well, but not all of them. So check to make sure.

Good luck.

Thats when I took mine and my scores would expire at more than half the the schools I applied to this cycle if I used them next year. Usually it is three years, which means 2004 for 2001 scores. You can get waivers from individual schools, but some schools wont budge at all.

The more I am on SDN the more I wonder who these so called "premed" advisors are!

Get the MSAR. It's $25 + $8 shipping at aamc.org. It will tell you the most accurate information about each school and it is much better than the Princeton Review book.

i second this. your advisor/career office should also have a copy.
