Is the education you get from low tier schools same as high tier?

I was wondering if going to one of the top dental schools makes any difference than going to Low tier schools.

Whether someone goes to top tier or low tier school, they all take the same board exam and eventually become the same dentist. I was wondering if choosing top tier school will actually give students better education or make them into better dentists than just giving them their school name.

There are a bunch of threads about this... but nope, doesn't matter. It's not like college where the "prestige" factor is a huge deal. I've talked to dentists who graduated from UPenn, Tufts, and Harvard and they all said the same thing...doesn't matter where you go, you can get a good education at any dental school.

I agree with lala.

I think one of the main distinguishing features of dental schools is their focus and other opportunities (eg - research).

High and low tier makes more of a difference for graduate programs like law school.

There really isn't a top tier or low tier dental school, that's why so many people stress to go with the cheapest tuition.
The tier of a school does plays a role for an MBA or law degree, like Mr. Beans said. I would even argue that it doesn't have much of a factor for undergrad either, but that's just my opinion.

In the words of a physician I know: "What do you call the worst graduate of the worst medical school? Doctor."

Just one of those things you keep in the back of your mind. As much as we all worry about getting into the school we want, I guess what really matters is just getting into one in the first place. 🙂
