Is the University of Washington good for pre-med?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Well I think university of washington is the best university so far for pre medical test. My friend has cleared the test by taking coaching from this. Very nice post. Keep posting.

For months I have been debating which school to attend for pre-med. They are drastically different and each has positives and negatives. From which school do I have the better chance of medical school admission, and which one offers a better pre-med experience? I need your opinion.

YES, YES, YES!
1) UW Honors has great support systems in place to help you get the most out of your experience--look into independent language study, study abroad grants, and the individualized sophomore advising scheme.
2) It's super uncompetitive outside of the standard East Asian circles and the Greek life is hipster enough that you can have an actual conversation with a SAE/DKE guy.
3) Seattle is heaven on earth for a single female interested in meeting eligible bachelors. I cannot even begin to explain how easy it is to have guys with serious compsci cash ask you for your number if you step off campus and into the city area. (Added bonus: most guys 25+ are cute, shy geeks without "game" who are desperate to marry, so landing them for LTRs/marriage is super easy and enjoyable! Be smart and grab one before he develops a flabby stomach and before the frat guys try to hunt you down.)
4) The weather is awesome and the location can't be beat. Where else could you kayak, ski, and sip gourmet coffee in the same day?
5) The UW Medical school is one of the best schools in the country and, from what my friends tell me, volunteering and finding research opps is a breeze.
6) The Huskies are known for producing tons of Rhodes and Truman finalists each year.
7) The campus is gorgeous and really makes working your butt off worth it.

1. Don't bother with honors unless there's a financial incentive included.

2. The easy Asian people will all be in your pre-med classes ruining the curve.

3. You're extremely unlikely, unless you're a 10, to land one of these bachelors, and if you do, they probably won't be too keen on relocating with you when you go to med school. Also, the compsci bubble is starting to burst. Just go after the frat guys.

4. First reasonable thing you've said. Unfortunately, the answer is "just about anywhere."

5. An unqualified good point.

6. Depends on the applicant, not the school. UW doesn't "produce" anything.

7. A gorgeous campus would make me less likely to want to work my butt off.

So you're 2.5/7. Way to go.

That's so very very sad.

Washington football continues to suck so just spend your Saturdays in the library.

Yes. 24/7.

Btw, this reminds me of a joke. I'm sure you've heard it but for everyone else:

Q: What do UW and WSU students have in Common?
A: They both applied to UW. 😀

Q: What does a WSU grad call a UW grad?
A: Boss.
etc.

I applied to UW and WSU. I got into both. I went to WSU-V. I'm incredibly happy with my decision.

Also, just as a side note, UW doesn't really like taking students from their own undergrad for grad/professional school. Just something to keep in mind. Going to UW and getting a 3.8 doesn't make you better than a 3.95 at WSU.
