MPH Is there a protocol for contacting schools about admission decisions?

So, I'm still waiting to hear from two schools. Both of the portals say that the package is at the department for review. It's been a month since I was verified, and while I realize that isn't a long time, it seems like eons to me. Thoughts?

BTW, the two schools are UIC and USF.

Don't forget about Spring Break. Presumably, their admissions departments would have been closed for one of these weeks. I would hold off another week at least.

There is nothing wrong with contacting the school about admission decisions. I did that and they were friendly and helpful.

I can't really wait a week, I need to let GW know by the 15th. I think I'll email them, maybe even catch them before the weekend. I bet that they know that people are waiting on these decisions.

USF was really slow with my application. They confirmed receipt of my SOPHAS app on January 27th, I received departmental acceptance from the epi/biostats department on February 24th. I eMailed the global health department about my application on March 9th and received acceptance from their department on March 12th. If it's been 3-4 weeks since you received your confirmation eMail from the CoPH contacting the department should be fine.

I just got a response from UIC. My advisor said he'll look into it, and that I should have a decision by Monday.

UIC has always been super fast responding to emails. I like that, because I'm sure they're getting a billion inquiries this time of year.

I've been emailing with UIC, and they've been really responsive. I asked if I should ask for an extension from other schools, because the deadline is tomorrow. He told me that I "shouldn't have to do that." So, I'm hoping for a decision today.

Also, I'm going to call USF this afternoon.
