I apologize for asking this question for the nth time. I searched but could not find a thread from within the last few months. Can someone who took the DAT recently confirm that there is a square root function on the DAT calculator?

in Chad's videos he says that sometimes there is, and sometimes there isn't. You would think they'd standardize this...

and here I thought I would be able to cheese those sqrt problems... methinks I'm going to have to call the testing centers and see if they have sqrt before I register.

Pretty sure I had one... that's an interesting change. I just checked the online tutorial and examinee guide, both have a sqrt function. Best to call the test center at this point.

Oh my goodness, I'm very happy you asked again! All of those other threads said yes, there was one. Just my luck that they decide now to nix it!

The sqrt isn't that essential from what I recall. If you know your basic squares you can estimate sufficiently accurately. Even it the sqrt exists, the calculator at my testing center was more or less unusable. It is so slow and you can't use keyboard for entry.

Prepare for the QR section assuming you won't really be relying on the calculator. You can definitely ace it with a little practice.
