i know this might sound stupid but here's it
i know nothing about anatomy & these stuff.
im still in high school, im 15, but i've heard that to be a surgon
one day you gotta study hard so i'd like to start learning from now
at least the basic stuff.

Work on getting into college right now. You don't need to worry about learning all that until you go to medical school (which comes after college). See these threads for more information.

If you are really interested in biology and chemistry then by all means start studying it. I would say that more important would be developing good study habits. In college, many people struggle because they do not know how to study efficiently. I would look up some really good study systems (the cornell note-taking system, or some variation of it is one of the better ones), and begin to incorporate it into your HS study.

Worry about high school right now, I'm guessing your only a sophomore...

As mentioned above learn how to study very efficiently, also keep your grades up now, more scholarship money for your undergrad..

If I were you I would look into doing some job shadowing of current physicians, becoming a surgeon is anywhere from a 13-15 year process and that doesn't start untill you graduate.. You wont learn hardly anything that you need to know during high school, just learn how to study and take notes so you'll be prepared later! As I mentioned, shadowing is also a fantasic opportunity out there for students who think they want to be doctors, it gives you a brief insight as to what the medical profession is about..

Enjoy your high school years! Someday you'll miss them greatly..

im sure you can Youtube some lectures on Anatomy and Physiology (probably a specific BIO course), if you really want that much of a head start. Also a video might be more appealing to you than a textbook. Realize that it will just help you with undergrad and getting good results on A&P. Ofcourse, you wont be able to know (and pointless at this point) to know the type of things surgeons are required to know, that stuff can wait until you actually get into med school

If you really want a head start, just study hard in your high school courses and take AP science classes, you would be surprised how much you remember from "that one day in bio class" since so much of biology is just learning the details of the broader framework. Although you can not start studying to "be a surgeon" you can start to get good study habits, make connections, figure out what interests you in school and in life in general. Make sure to have some fun too!

I'll agree with that. Studying before med school is generally a pretty phenomenal waste of time, and starting when you're 15 is...well, don't bother.

I already have all of Netter's memorized.

Is that a bad thing?

Definitely sarcastic.

Intriguing idea though...talk about an intro to gunner...maybe :meanie:

You do not have to be worried about this right now. You will learn all about anatomy in medical school and you really want to know more, study it in college. My high school offers an Anatomy elective I am taking next year. You should see if you could get into something like that. There really is no point in studying all that stuff right now. Focus on your SAT/ACT's.

Actually, taking math (calc)/bio/chem/physics will be much much more helpful at this point. NO medical school requires anatomy to accept you (I never took anatomy before med school and did just fine). However, you have to take math/bio/chem/physics in college AND you have to do well (as many A's as possible). taking those classes in high school where grades don't matter much, you'll have a good foundation going into college, thus making the whole pre-med experience less difficult.
