Taking these practice exams I keep running into gallons, oz, lb, cups, miles!!! What the hell is up this? My math skills are good but remembering every type of measurement is just stupid and doesnt prove anything except that I might want to play jeopardy or something. So the question in the subject is to those who have taken the exam already. Any feedback will be appreciated.

I'm curious about it too. I have my DAT coming up in a few days and I'm planning on cramming a bunch of math tomorrow. 😛

I didn't have much of that on mine. I do remember one time conversion. But no gallons, ounces, miles or anything. I would know geometry, trig identities, formulas for area, perimeter, volume and algebra stuff. I didn't have any complicated probability problems either.

I found the "DAT Test Specifications" and it says...

Conversions - temperature, weight, time and distance

... those are all pretty easy but I don't know if there are more than that.

Temp - F = 9/5(C) + 32, C = 5/9(F - 32), K = C + 273

Rate = distance/time

Time = distance/rate

Distance = rate x time

Weight - 1 pound = 16 ounces

Here are a bunch of other conversions which I'd assume are possible to show up too, although they're not listed on the "Test Specifications" sheet.

Liquids - 8 fluid ounces = 1 cup, 2 cups = 1 pint, 2 pints = 1 quart, 4 quarts = 1 gallon (128 ounces)

1 mile = 5280 feet

1 kilometer = 1000 meters = ~3000 feet

i thought 1 kilometer=1000meters ?
