I think it's on the low side. You don't meet the cut off for some schools ( I think KCUMB's is 3.25.) Did you make a C in any of your science classes or pre reqs? If so, I would suggest retaking those. Thanks for your advice. Is a 3.0-3.1 GPA good enough for an average DO school?
You could be automatically screened out at some DO schools with the 3.0 GPAs (KCU comes to mind) though the steep upward trend in the last two years may help you at other schools. There is no point to apply with the 22 MCAT. The combination of GPA/MCAT is lethal at almost every DO school, and you must take the gap year. That said, your plan, if fulfilled, will put you back on track. Consider adding more extracurricular activities as you get back to the "rhythm" of schools. Thanks for your advice. I work with DOs where I scribe so I think I am good there 🙂!also shadow a DO since you are in contact with them and see if they can write you a LOR
as long as they can write a good LOR describing your medical interests and character, its sufficient.I work with DOs where I scribe so I think I am good there 🙂!
