Hi!

I'm currently working on some secondaries and I'm hesitant to submit this particular essay. It's basically asking to explain a situation that had an unfavorable outcome, what you learned from it and how you would've acted differently. I was thinking of writing about how last year I ended a friendship with my best friend of seven years. There's only 250 words available so I wouldn't get into it too deeply, but I would focus on a particular night that I was out with her and I was faced with both passive and aggressive homophobia from nine different strangers, like, out of nowhere (yes I counted, it was very surreal). I'm used to this kind of thing, but the problem was that my best friend was there the whole time and never stood up for me and actually ended up dancing with and kissing the last guy who was being aggressively homophobic to me and low-key threatening me with violence. Anyway, I eventually ended this friendship for several other reasons and this was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I was thinking of writing about how ending the friendship was an exercise in self-respect and, although cutting her off felt like I was losing a family member, I am proud that I valued myself enough to remove a source of toxicity from my life. I also considered writing about how I am inherently a very forgiving and empathetic person so it was very difficult for me to make the decision, but once I knew that it was the only viable option for my own good, it had to be done.

Sorry if this was too personal for this forum, I just wanted to see if adcoms would think I was missing the point of fishing for sympathy idk. I'm open to constructive criticism!

Yeah I don't mind it being brought up in an interview. Thanks for the feedback guys!
