Hi, I'm taking a gap year and applying this cycle, and I received a job offer for an RBT/ABA tech, and I was wondering if it's considered clinical. If it's not considered clinical, should I seek out a clinical job or do you think my clinical hours are fine? I have 600 as an EMT and 300 as an MA. What do you guys think?

The reason I want to work as an RBT/ABA is that I have a passion for working with the disabled population, especially with kids with autism so do you think the fact that its something I'm passionate about also counts for something?

I'll let the other clinicians comment. I think being a behavior tech is a different clinical experience than MA or EMT, so if you are interested or passionate about it, why not.

Are you interested in any of the rehabilitative professions which we also support here on the forums? PT/OT, or Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology?

I'm not interested in those other professions, although I have shadowed all of those through a semester-long internship I've had, and these experiences have shown me that being a physician is how I want to help patients.

So if I were to accept this job, do you think it'll be frowned upon in any way to classify this as clinical?
