Hi everyone,
Firstly thank you for taking time out to read this and thanks in advance for the advice. I will be applying to dental school in june. My overall gpa is 3.6. But the problem is my science gpa, which is a 3.3, and bcp is 3.2. I have done good in all my classes, the problem was my sophomore year, i got c's in both semesters of organic and a c in genetics. This is not because these classes were hard, i was having a tough period in life, and sadly did not focus on my grades. I still take full responsibility for it. However, since than for the past 2 years i have had straight As, in biochem, cancer cell bio, anatomy, ecology etc. i have not taken the dat yet, but by taking the practice tests im guessing i wilk be able to hit a solid 20 atleast. I have 300 hours of shadowing, 200 volunteering at the hospital and a special needs home, 1 non dental internship and ill try to get a dental one. I also have research but its book based not lab work. Im in 3 clubs in college. And i believe i will have good recommend ation letters. Oh and i used to TA before my grades slipped and i resigned. What i want to know is, do i have a chance and what kind of chance? What schools are my best bet? And if anyone with similar statistics got in plz let me know where u have been accepted.
