Much like life....it is all about balance. Most clinicians I know do a variety of things, and don't just see patients. I think diversification is important for economic reasons (don't want all your eggs in one basket), and also so you don't burn out.
I've started diversifying now, so when I get out and settled i'll be able to grow in a number of areas, and adjust accordingly....without being reliant on just one thing.
As for the anxiety stuff.....i'd strongly suggest getting yourself in a good place before you go down the path of grad school, etc. There are plenty of things you can do both pre-emptively, in the moment, and also afterwards that can curb anxious feelings/reactions. Have you done any reading on different coping techniques?
Grad school can be a very stressful place, but if you have balance, you will put yourself in the best position to do well.
