I want to finish a summer session before applying.
lets say I finish my summer session in August, and apply.
write the DAT in late Oct, therefore my application will be considered complete in Nov.
I already have an avg DAT score so I would be considered complete when I apply in Aug BUT I want to note that I will be rewriting in Oct on the application.
If so, is it very late into the cycle?
I have the option not to do a summer session as I already would have a degree but would like to do a summer session to increase my GPA.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

What are your different GPA's right now as well as your DAT score? Do you have a lot of volunteer work, leadership, shadowing? In order for us to give you a better idea we need to know these things.

Why would you delay the application just to indicate you're taking the DAT again? The schools will automatically get the updated scores after you take the exam again, so they can consider that as part of your application shortly after you take it, rather than stalling your application for it to be present.

Anyways, a complete application in November is pretty late. Not "impossible to get in" late, but it's going to be much harder. I'm not sure how much of an impact you're expecting one summer session to make that you would delay your application for that either. Shoot for an earlier DAT retake if you can, if you're counting on a higher score changing your chances of admission.

Submit all that you can as early as you can and then update the application as your scores come in. I think that's what you plan on doing, but just to be sure.

because it still doesn't makeup for the low GPA..didn't get any interviews last time when I applied with this score but pretty sure GPA was the problem.

The most important thing with a low GPA and average DAT is to apply as early as possibly. Pushing it back to retake the DAT and bump up your GPA a little will still hurt you a lot more than applying early

I applied to schools in September and October and still got accepted from those schools on Dec 1st.
I think as long as you get a post-Dec interview, you will be considered equally as those who have interviewed earlier. However, I do still believe November is too late into the cycle.
I would agree with you on taking the summer credits to boost the gpa, but I would apply right after the summer courses with your current DAT scores.
I would still re-write the DAT, but would update the schools with your new scores rather than waiting.
