IS UIC top tier school?

Is this for real? UIC is a good school. If you like it, apply.

their average is like 3.5x and 30 i think

Sorry If the question seems stupid. i am wondering if UIC is a top tier school because it is my top choice school. What MCAT and GPA would be competitive to apply to UIC? Thanks

There aren't really "tiers" in med school the way there are in undergrad. The US News research ranking largely ranks schools based on research dollars (but doesn't group them into tiers), and by that yardstick UIC is not going to be tops compared to other schools in the state (Pritzker, Feinberg). However there are relatively few med schools compared to colleges and thus all allo schools are quite good and competitive; 50% of all applicants to med school won't get in anywhere.

Thanks buddies... avg 3.5 GPA and avg 30 MCAT sounds good to me... at least i have a chance 😀 Actually i don't care if UIC is top or bottom i just wanna get in there cause i live near by so I don't have to pay room and board and beside their tuition is also quite manageable for me. another reason is i also did research for one of the professor at UIC and he was kind of a mentor to me for six years since i immigrated here up to college so I thought it would be good if I can have him as a med teacher again you know....well thanks to all
