Derived from a practice question I am confused about
G2P1 @ first prenatal visit goes through the usual 9 tests
her blood type is A-
the anti-D antibody titer is 1:4
What is the next step in management?
A) Amniocentesis for bilirubin @16weeks
B) Repeat Titer in 4 weeks
C) Repeat Titer @28 weeks
D) Schedule PUBS to determine fetal Hct
E) Schedule PUBS stat to determine fetal blood type
they said the answer key is B)
HOwever, my gripe with this is that 1:4 is already higher than the 1:16 titer.
As a result, it should be imperative to perform PUBS.
Could this be a typo? or the more likely gap in my understanding?
Edit: nevermind. Cordocentesis cannot be done until after Week 20.
