What’s frozen vacation time? Is that unused vacation from the prior year?

It is not legal for a company to take away vacation time that has been earned. Vacation time has to be paid out when an employee quits/gets fired. (Sick time doesn't have this protection.)

One tactic companies can use to reduce total PTO is capping the amount that rolls over to the next year (depends on state)

Lost all my frozen time with no warning. This happen to anyone else? Thanks for letting us know Wags.

Yep, Just checked and mine is all gone as well. WTH? I had a ton of frozen sick time and a day or 2 frozen vacation. Wondering if they rolled the frozen vacation into the current PTO?

Can someone explain what Frozen vacation is?

Before Walgreens switched to PTO, you would earn vacation hours and everyone was given sick time for medical purposes. After they switched to the PTO system anything left over was moved over and placed as “frozen sick” or “frozen vacation” and could not be used until you were out of PTO.

This is exactly what Walmart did with previous balances for "personal" and "sick" when they switched over to their new PTO system

Talked to someone else and people central showed zero but when they checked in Kronos it was still listed. I’ll have to check Kronos when I go in this afternoon
