Hello future opthalmogists!
I need some advice.. I m an Italian student interested in ophthalmogy that wants to match a residency program in te US, i need to know how much is a good score in step 1 and 2.

Speaking about english certification in the Us the TOEFL is considered more importat of the IELTS?

Is usually Ophthalmogy a very required program?

My works and publications in Europe can help me during the match and interviews?

I m sorry, i m actually interested in both and I made a mistake..
In Italy is night right now and after a day of study and hospital can happen..

The only international graduates I met on the interview trail had taken at least a year to do research with well-known researchers at American institutions.

That doesn't mean it's the only way. But it's something you should look into if you are serious.

Step 1 is more important than Step 2. In general you need at least a 230 to interview Ophthalmology. Applicants for the top programs are usually >250.
