Items that need to buy for 1st year at Temple!!!

Hey guys.
I just got my packet from TUSPM regarding items to buy for the first year.
Items are such as microfilaments, scalpel blades, boxes of gloves, scrubs, and white coat etc....
Any recommendations for current temple students for what and quantity to buy??

Lastly, for the labs, we must wear scrubs? do we have to wear temple srcubs only or any scrubs is fine?

Please help.. thanks as always..

microfilament- you will need it 3rd yr
scaple blades- by the minimum possible (you work in a group of 4)
gloves- buy many they go quick
scrubs- no need to buy the temple ones, but some like to have the school logo
you will most likely end up throwing away your scrubs after the anatomy class. so get the cheapest you can find. (you need about 5 pairs b/cause once it gets busy you wont have time to do laundry)
White coat- you need one, no need to by from school

I second all of this. Great advice. And if you can find any of the items elsewhere for less money, don't feel bad about not going through Temple university. I was glad that I got the dissection kit, but there is about 500 old kits downstairs that you could use.

seems the past few posts hit it straight on. there are a few changes this year.

1) black scrubs with temple logo = sweet! at $21/set its gonna be hard to beat that price. def buy more if u dont do laundry.

2) monofilaments are really nice as they are retractable. you will use it more in ur 2nd/3rd/4th year.

3) gloves- you dont want cheap gloves as the embalming fluids will seep through. the prices are a tad higher but its at the cost of having smelly hands.

4) dissection kit- its good to have some tools as some people get protective over theirs.
