The bigger question is why would anyone want to use this drug? The practical way it works is by causing aversion to eating high-fat foods, by causing explosive diarrhea. Why not just buy a rubber band, and create aversion by snapping your wrist everytime you think about eating a high-fat food?

Xenical came out when I was still working in retail; I learned very quickly to only give people 10 capsules at first, because it was over $100 for 90 capsules and almost never covered by insurance. I also do not remember ever refilling a prescription for it.

I know this isn't vogue these days, but a calorie = a calorie. Too many calories makes one fat (regardless of whether those calories are from fat, protein, sugar, etc.) Alli works by decreasing the amount of fat one absorbs, albeit with many embarrassing side effects---so instead of Alli, one should just eat a low-fat diet and have the same effect. If one isn't getting all there extra calories from fat, than Alli isn't going to work for them anyway.

Wait, this is OTC now? But why is Xenical 120 mg prescription only? Because it's 120 mg and not 60 mg? So you mean to tell me you can pay $60 online for ALLI or pay $1,000 (if not covered by insurance) for the same drug for Xenical?
