Hey, IU rejected me without even requesting a secondary application... i am going crazy.. they said they like my DAT which is like 18 19 19 but my damn science GPA is low.. its 2.9. non sc. is 3.4, and over all is like 3.1

they say "take more science classes or get a master! "

should i be worried that other schools would do the same ???

i am going crazy..i am 25 and HAVE to be a dentist.. no way around it.

you DID apply to more schools right? don't let it get you down. everyone gets rejected to at least one school on their list, but unless you get rejection letters from every school you applied to, there is still hope. hang in there and just wait for those interviews to start rolling in. 😀

i am gonna wait and hope.. but it sucks that they reject so early.... wonder if this has happened to anyone else..

don't worry i got one too. my stats are around yours. i got the email one day after my prinouts were mailed out. 😱

I received one also. Let's face it, with as many applications they receive, some of us are going to get cut in the first round. At least they sent my rejection email before asking for my secondary fee. I do commend them on that! Most schools would take your money first...reject second! Fortunately, I have other interviews scheduled.

just remember, many of us are 25 and older (i am >25), so age is not a factor. you just need to perservere w/ your goals. if they want u to take more science classes, take them. if they want u to get a master's degree, get one at a respective school. and prove to adcoms you're a worthy candidate next year.

i am in the same boat as you are. you're not the only one. i hope that helps.

hey at least you didn't have to pay the secondary fee. i got a letter asking for a fee. i paid and now i find out i will be considered for interviews in spring. it's probably a long shot being accepted since im an out of stater, and interviewing so late. Oh wells.

Don't worry about the age thing. You are so young at 25. I am 31, and I'm still not really worried about being too old. Just hang in there and keep trying no matter how long it takes if this is your dream.

The IU class of 2009 seems to have like 25% of the class 25 or older (out of 100 people). We even have two 40 yr olds. 😀
