jaap

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
whats with all these threads addessed to individuals? There is a feature called Private Message, try it!

Whoa there ShawnOne, seems like you need to lay off the books...this admissions stress is really getting to you...

i think ShawnOne is just trying to remind us that this forum is for all predental/dental students, not targeted to a single person.

I agree with shawnone. The main forum is for topics that relate to everyone. You really should use the PM feature, or you could have asked this question in the thread in which you saw that Jaap had withdrew his/her application (instead of making a brand new thread for it). Its not a big deal. I dont think Shawnone was losing sleep over this, so I think you guys should "relax".

this is a funny thread now...if that is what shawnone ment he should have stated it so...not in the way he did...whatever

by now we should all be focusing on interviews and more important things.

these kind of threads are really rediculous!

this is the sideeffect from waiting period from application to process.

I think the spelling here at SDN is ridiculous! 😀

Just kidding, I know I make spelling mistakes as well....I guess I'm just bored.

thank you for pointing that out dentaldream.

i know i have been a little anxious for the passed week or so. man its hard to be waiting all day long for the mail only to find out there is nothing there for you.

hope we all make through this boring month.🙂

True to that.

Nobody else wants to read everybody elses private crap. If it is of interest to the group then it should be addressed to the group.

Soon this place will turn into a cesspool of filthy opinions. Oh wait, that's the Lounge. 🙂

To avoid the lynch mob assembled for my return, I'll reply to futureD via pm. Kinda weird logging on and seeing a post with my name and 10 replies!

Lotta grumpy people on SDN today, admssion process is taking its toll . . .

Jaap,
No offense but your picture reminds me of a great personality...
"Dwight Eisenhower "...All the best friend.

I am sorry I did what I did. I just thought that everyone might benefit from hearing some comments about Maryland.

Also, I could not find the thread in which jaap had rejected his interview invitation from Maryland.

Winston Churchill; why would I take offense?

I dunno, I'd like to hear why jaap rejected the interview myself. Anyone's input or opinions on schools can be pretty helpful, or even thought provoking....well, not DEEP, but you know what I mean. You people don't have to get so upset about a post that is completely unrelated to you, I mean, I can understand if jaap didn't want this posted himself, but he seems fine with it. And for as many people who think anything not related to the actual interviews is rediculous 😉 , there are probably just as many people who like the more random threads and are open to anything on those threads that could help them make decisions about dental school. And besides, you do have a more "streamlined" option for interview information, the feedback forum. And cesspool of filthy opinions? Isn't the whole point of having a forum to share opinions and experiences? Or was that sarcasm and I'm just missing the fun 😛
Anyway, bottom line, you guys need to calm down and if you find yourself in a thread you think is a waste of space, just press the back button instead of ripping the poster a new one, unless it's blatantly just wrong.
Predents are supposed to be way more relaxed than premeds, guys.
Hope this doesn't get anyone upset, I just miss all the happy helpful forum people, they seem to be replaced by angry trolls lately 🙁

things to get upset about.

there is a search function.
simply find that thread and reply/ask question there.

if it doesnt work PM that person.

the thread title should be more informative than just to a person.

The pre-dental forum is quite hectic these days. I remember last year at about the same time, there would be phases of a couple days or more when the pre-dental forum wouldn't even receive a single post. A few regulars kept the forum going along with a few lurkers, but that was it. It?s quite evident how much interest the dental profession is bringing lately. Just an observation.

Guys/Gals,

I honestly value this forum. Its an asset to me, and I know it will be an asset to other pre-dents in the future. Clearly, the purpose of this forum is to help eachother and future applicants by publicly discussing dental related topics. With this mission in mind and from reading SpringHaze's post, I take back what i said about PMs.

The question on why an applicant turned down a Maryland interview is perfectly valid. Another applicant applying to Maryland (present or future) could be very interested in reading a thread like this. But, he/she would probably never find it with its current title.

With that said, its just important to properly name a thread. In this case, something like "Decline Maryland Interview?" would be good. I am sure jaap would see it and be all over it. If we all started PM'ing eachother, the shared information would be unavailable and therefore defeat the purpose of SDN.

ecdoesit, your right on with your prior post!

Just my opinion. hope nobody is offended (you never know, wierd things have been happening lately)

BTW,
The SDN Dental Forum word of the week: "Ridiculous/Rediculous"

Interviews were good. We had 5 people interview yesterday morning and 4 interview yesterday afternoon.

They all seemed to enjoy the experience and they all seemed to be very qualified.

Hey Gavin, just a quick question. Arizona says that it puts high emphasis on people who have community service experience. What type of community service do they prefer? Of the 9 people you interviewed yesterday, what kind of community service did they have to make them "very qualified"? Thanks bud!
