Interesting study here. It's like the book, Outliers by Malcom Gladwell. it is the culmination of things that at the end of the trajectory (ie. doctorate school) really can change the person's ability to matriculate / accepted to medical school. Does this mean, in order to remedy this, we would most likely need to start much earlier than just around college age?

It's so silly for articles like these to assume that making changes at the collegiate and med school levels will be truly effective. They won't. Changes need to happen when children are young, ideally ages birth-5. Academic disparities are already evident on the first day of kindergarten, even before children come into contact with a teacher, standardized testing, and a classroom.
