So weird question but I got a job offer as a janitor at the place that I would love to go to for residency. Long story short but I need money for my dad's treatment so I have been looking for a part-time job. Do you guys think it looks weird if I work part-time as a janitor where I want to go to for residency?

I don't think so. Especially if you have a good reason to work for, which it sounds like you do. If anything, it shows you're willing to do whatever it takes to achieve a goal.

This.. those types of stories make people gush.. I would flaunt it.. and proudly..

I spoke a while back with Billy Mallon and we were discussing how EM more than any other medical specialty has people whose parents are not docs in it.

We are the bluest collar of the docs IMO. Any PD would love this..

I can tell you I was on the interview committee (at my shop) and I voted for a guy to get the job because he had a great "story". This is your great story OP.
