I am new to the SDN so I apologize if this question has already been asked. I was wondering if schools are allowing applicants to retake the MCAT in January and have it applied to their application for the 2007 applicant class.

For allopathic school, you can try this website: http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/january2007mcat.htm

For osteopathic schools, I got this in an email from a friend who goes to UCDavis. She got this info from the pre-med advisor:
"One of your UC Davis colleagues has done a some research about which osteopathic medical schools will consider January 2007 MCAT scores for Fall 2007 admission--and the news is good. The following schools have said that they will consider January scores:
--Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine
--Touro University of Osteopathic Medicine (both campuses)
--Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
--Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine
--Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center
--Chicago College of Osteopathic Mecicine
--Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences
--University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine
--Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

However, "most of the schools indicated that since applications and admissions are on a rolling basis, it may be risky to take the MCAT that late."

The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine indicated that January is too late for them.

So if you are applying to osteopathic medical schools this year and are concerned that your MCAT scores may not be competitive enough, you may want to consider taking the January 2007 MCAT (registration begins ~ November 15th) for the schools listed above (except Philadelphia of course...) If some of the schools you applied to are not listed, you may want to contact them yourself to see what their policy is on January 2007 MCAT scores."
