Since you guys are in a 3-year program, have you guys started "the outside school internship requirement" as required by your respective pharmacy board.
Originally posted by lord999 The extramural requirenment does not exist in AZ and many other states. Also, for CA, the full 900 have to be done in-state before sitting for boards.
Actually, Dr. Charles Lacy (who served on the CA board) told us today that we could work those hours in NV and it'd still count towards that CA requirement. 😉
He did say something about the out-of-state preceptor or the site having to be recognized by the CABOP?
He did say it wouldn't matter if you worked those hours at a chain or a major hospital. It would only matter if you worked your hours at a "Mom & Pop" independent, in which case the preceptor would have to submit some kind of form to CABOP to have your hours count.

We haven't started interning yet, but we have begun the process of obtaining our intern licenses (ie completing the application, Live Scan...etc.). It looks like we won't actually get our licenses until October.

You California people are so funny. Live Scan? I walked in to the board of pharmacy today with 20 bucks cash and a half page app and walked out with my temp intern license. They're mailing me the actual license on Monday. "Application process?" Whoahahhahah.

I know. When I was in Louisiana, all I had to do to get my tech license was fill out a form to ensure that I had graduated high school. Well, now that I think about it... having a high school diploma in Louisiana is about the equivalent to a B.S.
