Hi all. I am currently accepted at all 3 of these schools. Really having trouble deciding which would be best.

Do you mind to share your pros and cons list? Or some things you like/dislike about each of them?
My decision is primarily going to come down to reputation. I received a significant merit scholarship from drexel. Is it worth it to go to Drexel despite it maybe having a slightly worse rep than the others? (It is an MD though so I know it’s still a fine school)

Reputation wise: Jefferson >> Cooper ~ Drexel. Idk if I were you I would choose Drexel over the others because of money

You may want to think about curriculum too. They’re pretty different between the 3 and this can really affect your happiness. Do you want a lot of group learning and early clinical exposure or a more traditional curriculum?

Jefferson has a better rep than the other 2 but >90% of cooper students place into one of their top 3 choices, so you can basically get to the same place from either one (unless you want optho, than definitly go to Jefferson). Also how much is scholarship at Drexel and what’s the actual cost difference between the 3; and are you in-state or out-of-state for cooper (huge difference in COA).

How big of a scholarship at Drexel? Remember if it’s like 30K/year or something, if you do a 4 year residency and then pay off your debt over 5-7 years, a $120K scholarship will save you like $250K in lifetime payments. Is the marginal difference in prestige between Jeff and Drexel worth that kind of money to you?

That could influence what kind of specialty you can go into, what kind of job you can take as an attending (academic vs private), where you can afford to live, etc.

Is this a fact or something anecdotal? Future Cooper goer so exciting to read this.

I don't think they published it anywhere, but its what the Dean said on match day for this year. You'll be in good shape coming from here, 100% match rate in a wide range of specialities and locations. Happy to have you next year! Feel free to PM me with any questions so we don't highjack this guy/girl's thread haha
