I am doing a visiting elective at Jeff later this fall and have a logistical question.
Do people in gen surg/surgical subspecialties wear scrubs all day, or do they have to get dressed up outside the OR?

Thanks

This thread should probably be in the Clinical Rotations forum, if you're looking for advice from current MS-IIIs and MS-IVs.

For the most part you wear scrubs, unless you are assigned to the outpatient clinic with an attending. You will typically know this ahead of time though. For those days you are in the clinic most people wear professional attire. You can find scrubs in the basement of the Foerderer Pavillion

Thanks so much for the info.
So I got to Philly today and my housing fell through for various reasons. Anyone know any ways to find short term housing /sublet from a current student for the month of October? Thanks

If you have access to the campus email system (i.e. if you were given a campus key from IT), then you can email all students or post something on pulse.

If not - perhaps you should contact Sherry Weitz (or whomever you have recently been in contact with) and ask if she could email all students scheduled to do surgery. She might be able to help you out, or at least help you get temporary housing at Martin.

Good luck - PM me if none of these things work.
