I am an attending at Mayo Roch.
Both programs are outstanding, so you will get an excellent education at both places. I don't know details of rotations, numbers, etc at JHU, but I can tell you that when you are done here you will have done more variety of cases than most programs, more numbers than most, certainly more regional experience than most, in a resident-friendly environment, in a safe city, working with modern equipment.
Our residents have very high success rates with board passage, both oral and written. Fellowships available in regional, pain, ICU, cardiac, neuro, peds, etc.
Rotations to our branches in Scottsdale and Jacksonville for months at a time.
When it comes to getting jobs, our residents report that having "Mayo" on the resume is very helpful. Our grads are out there everywhere and we like to take care of our own.
Just to prevent the JHU people from writing me, I will repeat what I said at the beginning. Both programs are excellent and I am only qualified to comment on my situation.
But, in regards to being resident friendly, just look at who answered you first.🙂
