I am actively looking for an associate position and have sent out my CV etc.. Some of the people I sent them to, replied back and said they want to talk on the phone.. What should I expect to discuss with them? I really have no idea what to expect.

Could somebody that went through this step enlighten me? What is usually the next step if this phone interview goes well?

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

Interviews are such a variable thing, so it's really tough to tell someone what to expect.

Some Docs will want to know every aspect about your educational background, school experiences, and job expectations(almost like a dental school admissions interview), whereas others once they know that your licensed and able to practice will spend more time talking about big picture treatment philosophies and overall office concepts to see if your views are similar to the established practice views.

Chances are if they've seen a paper copy of your CV, the potential hiring Doc is satisfied with your academic credentials and licensability, and a phone interview will be more of a get to know you and your theories of practice to see if you have clinical compatability(or atleast that's how I'd do it if I was the hiring Doc).

Usually once its been determined that your can practice there and you have treatment philosphies not diametrically opposed to that of the practice owning Doc, then the fun conversation about compensation will begin😀
