Got tired of board studying and somehow ended up looking up job offerings. I found these 2 and was wondering what the deal was with the "MD" requirement...are they not considering DOs or are they implying MD = physician?

What makes me really curious is this one which doesn't mention any specific degree criteria...

I think it is very likely that the job was posted by someone who overlooked that detail (probably administrative staff?). I'm pretty sure the vast majority of psychiatrist openings would consider both MDs and DOs.

Depends on the job. I’m guessing that UCLA doesn’t have any DOs on faculty if these aren’t job jobs. I’m also sure that they wouldn’t hesitate to make money off of DOs if they are job jobs. Either way, why seek out the positions where you have the honor of being underpaid without the honor of being the academic that allegedly justifies the low pay? There is something to be said about being in an exciting cutting edge environment, but don't forget to keep your eye on the bottom line.

This is probably true. I remember when applying for residency, some programs listed application requirements on their websites, such as having passing scores on the USMLE. When I asked if they accepted the COMLEX instead, most of them said yes, although it wasn't specifically stated on their website.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Lots of people who should know better don't understand the difference in training between psychologists and psychiatrists, never mind that some psychiatrists are MD's and some are DO'd. Gotta love it when they list psychiatrists as a different category from MD's and I'm pretty sure I've seen that confusion in job listings. The NHSC had no idea that psychiatrists are physicians when I was dealing with them.
