A question from my own ignorance on this topic....

Starting the job search and didn't know at what point you start asking about specifics of reimbursement/salary.

Had an informal phone chat with the CEO of a hospital I had sent my CV to and going to set up an in person more formal interview to meet with some of the docs in the practice.

At what point during the process is it "appropriate" to bring this question up?

They tell you what kind of work they want from you, you ask/tell them what they're willing to pay you/what you'll accept for it.
