I'm only in college right now and I wish to get into med school to do anesthesiology. But when I look around, I see a lot of CRNAs and the new AAs are coming up. Would that affect the job security of the anesthesiologist in the future (like 10 years from now?). I was thinking maybe they would hire on or 2 anesthesiologists to supervise the ORs run with only CRNAs.
Please I'm not trying to be troll..I just would like to know.
Also what could an Anesthesiologist do which a CRNA cant. I know that Anesthesiologist have to go to med school first but CRNAs have BSNs with ICU experience....but whats the difference in the curriculum training for Anesthesiologists and CRNAs (residency and CRNA school)?
