I'm looking to match into a psychiatry residency in the near future and was just wondering how hard it is once graduated from residency to land a job in psychiatry in a particular location; do most people who graduate have to go where they can find a job, or can they find something in just about every major city? I know there's probably a huge variation to this question based on quality of residency, what particular area of psychiatry one goes into, etc, but just in general I was wondering how hard it is for someone with a residency in general psychiatry to get a job in a certain location. There may be a few areas that are saturated, but outside of those few pockets (which may change by the time you're finished), you should have no difficulty, especially if you're willing to be flexible.

Jobs are pretty much available anywhere - compensation differs significantly based on both practice type and location.
