arg...I wasn't getting enough feedbacks at the post-bac forum so please understand that I'm repeating myself here...

I'm in middle of getting ready to go to UMDNJ Biomedical Science program. I got my housing, financial document sent out and everything set so far.

[FONT=&#48148]But TODAY I got an acceptance letter from Master of Health Science Program in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health[FONT=&#48148]. ..
[FONT=&#48148]I'm from Maryland and I'm a pre-dental student. I think both schools will increase my chance getting into dental school next year...HOWEVER, I'm not sure which school program more suit for me..

[FONT=&#48148]I have opportunity to take dental classes with the dental students at UMDNJ MBS program and I heard it's possible to pull 4.0. (I have low undergraduate science GPA and I need to earn HIGH GPA as possible.).

[FONT=&#48148]On the other hand, Johns Hopkins has GREAT name credential but I'm afraid that I might earn like 3.5 GPA or below because I heard it's such a brutal school! And [FONT=&#48148]Curruculums are focused for pre-meds students..

[FONT=&#48148]I was leaning toward UMDNJ but now I'm not sure if I should change my mind. Johns Hopkins is $20,000 is more expensive (tuition only) mainly because UMDNJ is one year program where as Johns Hopkins is takes 2 years to finish the program. .

[FONT=&#48148]What would you guys do? any advices? 😕.

Sorry i am no expert but i will tell you this... looking purely from $ tuition perspective you are not only saving 20k per year... but if you were to get into UMDNJ dental school you will save even more b/c you will be considered INSTATE since the starting year... and johns Hopkins does not have d school. So if you play your cards right you might get into umdnj dental school and you will save 1 year + over 50k...

UMDNJ. Though i'm biased haha. But in all honesty, Hopkins might have the name but the masters at UMDNJ will make you a better applicant because you will be able to take dental courses to really show D-schools that you are capable of handling D-school level courses.

Just to clarify UMDNJ dental will not consider your master's at all until you have completed a full year in their program, but some other schools do. I went to the UMDNJ MBS program and have nothing but good things to say about it, I feel much more prepared for dental school having gone there. My master's was a critical part of my acceptance so I can't complain at all and would recommend it to others.
