Hello all, first off I just wanted to ask anybody here is they ever did a clinical clerkship at Johnstown's Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

I go to an osteopathic school and get tons of medicine type of rotations, which is ok, I do like internal medicine (you can all shoot me later). But my problem is this, my schedule gives me no time to go out and do clerkships in speciatly areas, say like pathology, before residency applications are due, so how will I ever really know if I like anything other than internal medicine?

I do have an elective soming up and would like to do a clerkship in path; however, I would like to do it at a place where you get to see and do a lot because you never know, I might just like it!!!

So would anybody say a clerkship at this place as an MS4 would be worth it if your goals are; learn the basic priniciples of path that were never really taught in MSI-II years, and to see if I like/dislike path?

Having known people who have trained there, I would recommend you not doing a path elective there. If you want to learn basic pathology and see if you may possibly explore path as a career, your best bet is to try an academic center. If you are near Johnstown, try University of Pittsburgh. If near Philly, then UPENN or Jefferson.
