So do most of you join up as an undergrad and get paid along the way, or wait until you are done and get the scholarship? I have 3 semesters left and I'm considering either AF or Navy. I figure if I'm going to join later anyway, why not just do it now and get paid for the 3 semesters I have left. Any opinions/ideas?

If you sign up now you will be in a pool where the very large majority go to be line officers (infantry, ships, etc...) so you risk delaying med school entry four or five years.

Also, I am not sure, but I believe that you will end up owing four or five years just like the four year ROTC people so you are giving a lot for only 3 semester's tuition.

Get into med school and then think about HPSP.

get into med school, first.

then if you are serious in looking into the military, visit, call, whatever it takes to find out what you are getting into before you jump.

Exactly right.
Line ROTC = Line job (yes, there are a few exceptions but you won't get one joining late). Nurse ROTC = Nurse job (they are even less inclined to let you out). Even worse, you'd get the accelerated version of ROTC with the extra-fun catch-up training.
