This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There are relatively no secondaries for programs. I had one program have me do a “supplemental” application AFTER i got an interview.

Nobody applies for AOA and when that is announced is dependent on your school.

Grading for clerkships is also school dependent. Mine does H/HP/P. Some use letters. Some are P/F. Some do H/P/F.

For Step 1, don’t “seriously” study for Step 1 during first year. Anki is good for retention of stuff, though. First Aid because your best friend during second year.

You can distill each year into a haiku.

First Year:
I Like Medicine
Learning How The Body Works
Start The Firehose

Second Year:
Step 1, Oh Step 1
It Feels As Though School Lectures
Are a Waste of Time

Third Year:
Examine Patients
Until One Annoyed Patient
Asks For Me To Leave

Fourth Year:
The Best Time Of All
Examine Zero Patients
Six Months Of The Year

@ciestar can you be more specific about "don't 'seriously' study"?

Don’t be sitting there reviewing First Aid on stuff you haven’t learned yet and won’t until second year. It has sections for first year stuff and plenty annotate that stuff as they go along. Don’t waste UWorld as a first year.
