I find it hard to juggle all my subjects in med school. I notice myself only studying the subject with the closest test/quiz and can't change it too much.

My first midterms are coming up and I am staring a big mountain.

This is where making a schedule helps. Plan out weeks in advance by assigning days to different topics or subjects. Take into consideration the proximity of the test as a factor too, especially as it gets closer.

Not only can you assign days, but you should also plan out what will take more time. Some subjects take more time, some are just tiny details that can be crammed in right before the test. Take that into consideration as well when you make your schedule.

You'll have to play around a bit to make it work, but it will help you cover everything. It's good practice for step 1 studying too.

Studying the thing coming up is what I do. It works well.

You will realize, like we all do, that you can study material about 4 times faster than you do if given the proper motivation. Sometimes it's picking out the important things faster (testable topics), sometimes it's just sheer will + concentration, or other stuff. But I think you will find out that you can move much faster than you do when med school starts.

Efficiency is more important than any perfect schedule. Find out how to study the exam relevant material and find out how to do that faster.

The mountains get bigger, not smaller. So if you are freaked out or whatever, good. It will get you used to performing while being freaked out. Then you will need to perform well on Step 1 while freaked out, then you will have patients livelihood dependent upon your actions in residency... all of these things = pressure and your midterms pale in comparison. So just ease in and get better each week.

As long as you're comprehending (and not cramming) all the studying you do for your quizzes will help you come exam time.

I usually tried to review everything at least once before each exam, but towards the end of the years, I always had fresh material I was reading during the 2-3 break we sometimes had between class exams.

Ive been doing fantastic. The problem is I am now approaching my midterms and midterm week will have all 5 tests, once a day, and as you can see that strategy will be a terrible one.

So my question is how do people juggle it when they have 5 tests the same week.
