July 21 USMLE Step 1 Major Release Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I feel "unsure" of whether we are really getting it tomorrow (took it June 29th).

Blah, I have been trying to just stay busy and ignore it honestly.

Don't know how that will "fly" by tomorrow around 11 am

There are a lot of people I know (myself included) who are getting their scores tomorrow. If you want to, you can post them here!

I think we took it on the same day (30th). Hopefully we get them tomorrow. If anybody knows for sure let us know.

Good luck to all. Tomorrow will be either a great day, or a 😡 day.

If your printable permit schedule has disappeared, does that mean you will get your score tomorrow? (Mine has, and I took it July 1.)

I took mine July 3rd. I heard scores are released on the third weds following one's test date, but my scheduling permit is still up. I guess it's another week in limbo for me?

Long time lurker, but first time posting. 🙂

I took my test on July 1st and my scheduling permit has disappeared also. I am hoping that means that tomorrow is the day? :-?
OMG...I am so nervous right now, I don't know if I will sleep tonight...

I almost didn't post here because I got all hyped up last week, posting in the July 14 release thread, but didn't get my score and was a little bummed out. I also took the test on the 29th (which was a Tuesday) and tomorrow seems to be the 3rd Wednesday after the test....

Can't wait!!! So excited to finally close this chapter of my life 😀 Good luck to everyone!!:luck:

Did your "Request Documents" link change from last Tuesday night??????

Test taken on June 28th. The link for printing my testing permit has disappeared, but no other changes that I notice. I'm thinking there is a good chance we find out tomorrow.

Nope... still the same stuff about "unable to provide you with any official documents" but my "print permit" link is now gone. I don't want to get my hopes too high, but it seems like tomorrow is very likely 🙂

BAM, like clock work. At exactly 12AM my request document page changed to some page containing forms about ordering documents. Tomorrow is game day boys.....😱

So the request documents page will have the score there tomorrow?

Then we do some paperwork and we're done?

Same here! Argh.... it's going to be so hard to get some sleep tonight 🙁

I experienced this last week so I thought I'd chime in quickly. The "unable to provide with any official documents due to not having a score, blah blah etc." was there as late as ~730AM Pacific the day I got my score so not having it change doesn't mean much.

The print permit link definitely changed around that Wednesday, don't remember exactly when but I do know it was available that Tuesday b/c by that point I was checking for my score every day.

The NBME website will go extremely slow. I first got my score from an email from my dean and then later checked out the score report after the site had calmed down.

Good luck to everyone and enjoy the relief that comes with this holiday!

took it june 27th ... wasn't getting my hopes up after last week ... but my page changed also ...

!!! soooooooo nervous cause i felt soo bad coming out of it and made so many stupid mistakes!! here's hoping! good luck all!

Still not sure how you check your score.

I go to the request documents page, but do I need to pay with a credit card first???

Or will there be a page that simply says my score when it finally comes up???

you go to the exam history page. then you click in the radio button next to the exam that you want to look at. then a link should appear in the permit available box. per the site:

Click on the button next to the exam to see more detailed information in the space below the grid. Information is updated nightly. If a permit or score report is available for an exam, a Print link will appear in the Permit Available Date or Score Report Date column. Click this link to view/print the associated document. The permit or score report will appear in a separate window. Select the print icon on that window to print. Score Reports are available for 120 days after Score Report Date. You are, therefore, strongly encouraged to print and save a copy immediately.

the website is starting to slow down now, looks like they are getting hit pretty hard again this week.

OK.

I clicked on the exam history. And I clicked this little bubble by Step 1.

Nothing came up that said print. So it isn't up yet for me. Correct?

202

Far lower than my NBME scores, but it should be good enough for internal medicine in NE Ohio. According to the NRMP, 373 or 383 people with a similiar score matched in Internal Medicine.

So I'm kind of bummed that my score went down, but I am happy I passed. It's over!!!

DocDanny, how do you navigate the NRMP website? I'm a bit daft with the system and hardly understand the matching process. Is it the resultsanddata2010.pdf ?

Thanks to the Taus Method, USMLE World, First Aid, and StudentDoctor.net, I got 250/99 as an IMG.

I'm particularly interested in PokerDoc's scores as he/she took the exam the same day as me. I wish him/her all the best.

add: and ZagDoc's amazing inspirational post http://more.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?p=8292712#post8292712

sorry I am not going to post my score, too many people know who i am in real life (as I have recently learned lol) I really dont want to make it public. I did fine though, happy with my score, and definitely am happy with DIT for the record.

Go to the Exam History tab and click it. A link should come up that you click on and bring up a PDF.

I got a 246!

My Nbme progression was:
Nbme 2: 236 (7 weeks before)
Nbme 5: 242 (6 weeks before)
Nbme 4: 247 (4 weeks before)
Nbme 6: 236 😱(1 week before)
(Needless to say I was petrified that I had already peaked!)
Free 150: 91% (3 weeks before)

Granted, this score was below the goal I set. But I figured aim for the moon and if you miss you will land among the stars. lol. So thankful to God and happy that Step 1 is officially behind me!

LOL! I definitely remixed that saying. Thought it sounded right tho. lol.
But thank you! And congratulations to you, I am sure your score is amazing!

Goal: break 230. Secret goal: 243. Real deal: 244!!!! SO happy!! Congrats to everyone else!

Baseline NBME 4 227
UWorld 1 250 + NBME 6 (234) Both in one day
Uworld 2 256
Free 150 Step 1--91% (261)
NBME 7 255

Actualy 242/99

This is a good score. But, obviously, I am super disappointed. Congrats to everyone who reached their goal.

NMBE 3 (4/9/10): 205
NBME 5 (5/9/10): 229
UWSA1 (6/2/10): 239
NBME 6 (6/12/10): 244
UWSA2 (6/17/10): 232
Free150 (6/23/10): 261
NBME 7 (6/24/10): 253

Real Deal (6/30/10): 254

Thrilled beyond belief. It was a long 3 weeks waiting for scores. Glad to have that part of my life over with.

bummer, i think we have a different website giving us results

i log in normally to the ECFMG OASIS page (IMG website), which is different from the one you use.

NBME 1:209
NBME 4:221
UWSA1: 221
UWSA2:256
NBME2: 245

Real Thing:241/99

Im pretty dissapointed even though i shouldnt be. If you had told me 3 months ago that i would get a 241 i would have been ecstatic. However, i feel like i was poised to do better and just blew it on test day. I guess the only good thing is that i will still be really motivated for step 2. If i had done greater than 245/250 i probably would have felt that i didnt need to worry about acing step 2.

I hope I don't get jumped on for posting this but to me it seems our group doesn't have the super high scores that the July 14th release date had. I got a score approx 20 pts lower than what I was scoring on practice exams. I'm not sure whether I had a crummy day performance wise or our curve was a little less generous. Regardless, I'm glad it's behind me!!

great to see all the solid scores.

School Sponsored NBME COMP - 235
USMLE World Bank - 71% (100% complete)
NBME 2 - 240
NBME 4 - 236

Actual - 244/99

very happy with the score; obviously 250+ was my ultimate goal, but I gave it my all and left everything on the field. I figure this should be a solid score for general surgery.

reading that thread, it reminds me of joke I have with my med-friends...people reporting scores, usually have a SBSD of +/- 10 points (SBSD - standard bull**** deviation). The number of 260s and 270s in that thread, should push the national average from 220 to 245...😛

July 14th had a lot of people overall get their test results and more people = more high scores. The high scores stick out more especially with the self selection that occurs on SDN.

A factor that may alter the scores somewhat is that some of the people taking it later may not have being doing as well as they wanted on practice tests so they decided to delay their exam date. Idk if it's true but I've heard short delays (a few days to 2-3 wks) really don't increase scores

Only one person scored below a 240 in this thread, and that was me.

Wow. I thought today would never come.

I was one of those people who felt "awful" after the test and pretty much gave up all hope (See the "Stupid Mistakes" thread a few pages back).

255/99

Seriously had to check and recheck to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. Will post experience in the other thread. I've been a lurker for awhile, and couldn't have done it without SDN

Great job to everyone who got their scores today. Now we finally have some closure 👍

I took my test July 2nd and didn't get a score today. I figured I would have to wait until next week to get my results until I found out someone in my class who took their test the exact same time at the exact same place as me and got their score today. Has anyone heard of this happening? 😕

Isn't it the rumor on the street that if you do INSANELY WELL, sometimes they will hold your score back a week or so while they try to verify that you weren't cheating?

Maybe you got a 278 👍

Test taken on July 1
Score report on July 21

Kaplan % = 73% (timed, subject specific)
USMLE world % = 78% (timed, random) (started at 70%; last few blocks % = 100, 93, 87, 85, 85)
UWSA1 (2 weeks out) = 253 (breakdown: 72%, 70%, 77%, 85%)

 lol I wish! I'm afraid it is the other way around...holding it because I did insanely poor! :scared: Just one more week to worry I guess...I just thought it was weird that some of us got scores and some didn't even though we took the test the same day at the same center

Started reading this site before taking Step 1 and learned a great deal from it.
